Başlık: Various disguises of the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator
 

Özet: Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator is one of the best known higher derivative models. In this talk, I will discuss realizations of this mechanical model in physical setups with second order equations of motion. I will explicitly show that dynamics in some certain gravitational waves in 4 dimensions and Penning trap in 3 dimensions are governed by a 1-dimensional Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator.
