Course Objectives: 
The aim of this course is to enable students knowledge about in Ottoman Turkish to be able read texts written in Ottoman Turkish, explain such texts in modern Turkish and acquire the skills to use the information they draw from such texts in their own research
Course Content: 

The rules of Arabic and Persian grammar borrowed in Ottoman Turkish are taught; those rules are illustrated and studied in detail through texts from Divan Literature and from the literature of the pre-Republic era
