The Turkish Language and Literature Department at Yeditepe University, established in 1996, has two main areas of study: “language” and “literature”. Having contemporary linguistics as the main analytical tool, courses on the Turkish language aim a thorough analysis in its historical context. The literature component has a similar comprehensive perspective with its emphasis on literary periods and on the continuity of literary tradition. Other than double major and minor possibilities with several departments such as Psychology, Translation, English Language and Literature etc, the department also offers an MA program in Comparative Literature.
