Course Objectives: 
The aim of this course is to expand on the information given in TLL 161 by focusing on three other components of the grammar not addressed in TLL 161, namely syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. This serves the purpose that the students of Turkish Language and Literature gain a better understanding of the general structure of the Turkish language and develop an awareness of their native language while learning basic concepts and approaches used in the field of linguistics.
Course Content: 

This course presents a barebones introduction to syntax, semantics and pragmatics by illustrating each one of them with data from Turkish and with occasional comparisons with other languages.
