Course Objectives:

This course focuses on the third period of Modern Turkish Literature using texts chosen from the main representatives of the period.

Course Content:

Türk Edebiyatı’nda çağdaşlaşmanın üçüncü aşaması, Fecr-i Âtî ve Genç Kalemler (Mllî Edebiyat) başlığı altında işlenmektedir. Fecr-i Âtî, bir geçiş dönemi topluluğudur. II. Meşrutiyet’in ilanından sonra ortaya çıkmıştır. Topluluk üyeleri, edebiyata yeni bir hava ve soluk getirmek istemişler, ancak Servet-i Fünûn’un dairesinin dışına çıkamamışlardır. Pek uzun ömürlü de olamamışlardır, çünkü Selanik’te çıkan Genç Kalemler dergisinin etrafında oluşan Millî Edebiyat heyecanı kısa zamanda yaygınlaşmış İstanbul’u da sarıp sarmalamıştır.

Derse öğrencilerin hazırlıklı gelmeleri gerekmektedir. Çünkü, sadece belirli şahsiyetleri ve eserleri tanıtmaktan ibaret bir program uygulanmamaktadır. Önce, dönemin şair ve yazarları; yaşadıkları çevre, aldıkları eğitim, etkilendikleri ve beslendikleri kaynaklar araştırılarak, anlaşılmaya çalışılmakta, sonra eserleri farklı yaklaşımlarla değerlendirilmektedir.
