Course Objectives: 
To study modern organizations from the sociological perspective; to analyze organizational structure, behavior and dynamics; to understand the economic and social functions of organizations and their transformation processes.
Course Content: 

Classical Theories of Modern Organization; The Social Meaning and Significance of the Organization; Nature and Types of Organizations; Bureaucracy as a Formal Organization; The Rise of the Modern Firm; Types of Labor Control and Labor Process; The Firm and Society; Contemporary Theories of Work Organization; Organizational Culture; Gender and Organization; Organizational Conflict; Transformation of Organizations in the Contemporary Global Economy
