GENERAL INFORMATION AND REGULATIONS
Yeditepe University PHYS-101 Mechanical Laboratory serves physics, mathematics and engineering students in their early years. Each Phys-101 class is divided into groups of three students and groups attend the laboratory regularly for 2 hours per week.
Each student is given a test book with laboratory rules and experiments to prepare them before they arrive. Students are expected to read this experiment book before coming to the laboratory to learn and remember procedures and theories.
Students conduct experiments once a week. At the end of the semester, each student completes 10 different experiments.
- A) Measurement Principles and Errors
B) Accurate Measurements - Mathematical Pendulum
- Laws of Collision/Air Track
- Free Fall
- Hooke’s Law
- Newton’s Law
- Uniformly Accelerated Motion
- Projectile Motion
- Moment of Inertia and Angular Acceleration
- Equilibrium on the Inclined Plane

Success and Exemption |
The lab % unable to show success remains 50 lessons from both laboratory (UK No. 57 and 86 10.12.2016 18.4.2008). In case of repetition of the students who have achieved the exemption from the laboratory with success (80%) and success (50%) , the last laboratory grade taken will be added to the average. Students who repeat the course and have laboratory exemption must fill in the “laboratory exemption form asında in the first week of the semester and get approval for exemption from the department. |
