FEDEK accredited Yeditepe University Philosophy Department for the first time in Turkey in May 2012. The program received its second-five year accreditation, covering the period May 2017- September 2022.
*FEDEK is recognised by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) as a national quality assurance
organisation for the accreditation of FEF programmes.
Programme outcomes were determined by the academic board of our department based on the
FEDEK criteria.
The programme outcomes determined according to the teaching objectives of the curriculum are
listed below.
PO 1. Ability to apply knowledge in Philosophy and Social Sciences to cultural, social, ethical,
aesthetic, political, etc. issues.
PO 2. The ability to scan, analyse and interpret literature.
PO 3. Ability to do interdisciplinary reading and analysing.
PO 4. Ability to define the problems of classical philosophy.
PO 5. Awareness of professional and ethical responsibility.
PO 6. Ability to communicate effectively.
PO 7. The necessary breadth of education to understand the universal and social implications of
philosophical problems.
PO 8. Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning and the ability to realise this.
PO 9. To have knowledge of contemporary philosophical issues and cultural problems of the age.
PO 10. The ability to use the resources and modern tools necessary for philosophical research.
