The guest of our Social Sciences Colloquium class on 20.5.2024 was our beloved teacher Prof. Dr. Demet Lüküslü. We discussed our teacher Demet's article "The Desire of Young People in Turkey to Live Abroad: An Youth in Turkey". Demet Lüküslü discussed young people's desire to live abroad from different perspectives and analyzed in depth the sociocultural and economic dynamics underlying this desire. He emphasized that it is insufficient to explain the interest of young people in Turkey abroad only with economic opportunities and educational opportunities. He also stated that young people's search for freedom, better living standards and an environment where they can express themselves are among the important factors. During the course, students asked various questions and held discussions on the topics discussed in Demet Lüküslü's article. In conclusion, this discussion revealed that young people's desire to live abroad is a multidimensional and complex issue. Prof. Dr. With the valuable contributions of Demet Lüküslü, we had the opportunity to understand this issue more deeply and developed different perspectives. We would like to thank our dear teacher Demet Lüküslü for taking the time to attend our class and sharing your valuable knowledge and experiences with us.
