Application Deadline: October 10, 2024
The event is limited to 60 participants. There will also be a reserve list of 5 participants in case the main participants cannot attend.

Purpose and Scope of the Event

This event aims to teach undergraduate students studying Social Sciences at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of our school, Yeditepe University, the technique of writing a project within the scope of the "TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program." Throughout the event which will take place between 14-16 October, thanks to the lessons given by experts, our students will learn the basic rules and methods of writing a project on topics related to Social Sciences. The ultimate goal of our event is to demonstrate the project writing process practically to our students by discussing topics such as scientific research questions, methods, and project management in the Social Sciences.

Our event aims to help undergraduate Social Sciences students prepare for the "TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program" call. In this scope, the steps include determining the originality and research problem of the project proposal, evaluating ethical issues in scientific research, teaching various research methods in Social Sciences, examining project management and dissemination, and transforming scientifically valuable projects into publications. Additionally, students will be informed about literature review methods and reference management software, and will receive training on how to prepare a project budget. In the final session of the event, the original projects written by our students will be evaluated by experts. The lessons will be video-recorded and subsequently made available as an open resource to students by the Yeditepe University Learning and Teaching Unit Coordination. The continuous accessibility of the lesson videos to students is among the important elements that enhance the widespread impact of the event.
