In the colloquium lecture on April 1, 2024, we hosted Duru Başak Uğurlu with her research on coffeehouses during the pandemic period. Uğurlu's presentation was on the article "I was never afraid, nor did I wear a mask: Coffeehouses, Masculinities and Risk in the Pandemic Era". Duru Uğurlu shed light on many issues such as the concept of masculinity today, hegemony, social structures, the functionality and dynamics of coffeehouses from a gender perspective. In addition, we carried out an in-depth analysis from coffeehouses to hookah cafes based on Uğurlu's master's thesis.
