Assist. Prof. Dr. Hülya Arslan from the Department of Russian Language and Literature represented Türkiye and Yeditepe University on an international translation platform by attending the 9th International Congress of Literary Translators held in Moscow on September 3–5, 2026.
Bringing together over 180 literary translators, philologists, academics, and publishers from 42 countries, the congress featured 120 paper presentations. Hülya Arslan presented her paper titled "The Translator as a Subtext Archaeologist." The presentation addressed the creative and interpretive role of the literary translator, serving as a mediator not only between languages but also between the visible surface of the text and its deeper layers of meaning.
Organized biennially by the Institute for Literary Translation (Russia), the congress continues to be one of the key gathering points for sharing international experience in literary translation and fostering dialogue among different translation traditions.
Hülya Arslan, who has been contributing to the journey of Russian literature in Turkish for many years through both her academic studies and literary translations, further enhanced Yeditepe University's international academic visibility in the fields of Russian language, literature, and translation through her presentation at the congress.
