As a partner university of Partibridges Erasmus+ Project, the Sociology Department at Yeditepe University has successfully completed a 5-week training module, which included a variety of headings, such as social integration, empowerment, democratic rights and citizenship. The module was carried out in an interactive manner incorporating various pedagogical tools. Through group discussions and activities, games, and arts we elaborated on the identified topics within the framework of youth participation into society. Participants heard each other’s’ experiences, expressed their views on the problems of youths, and brainstormed on what better “solidarity mechanisms” could be established among youngsters, institutions and organizations within social life.

It was a pleasure for us to get together with our students and engage in such a highly interactive, collaborative mutual learning process with them. As the Sociology Department we would like to thank all of our students who attended and actively participated in the training module. We are also grateful to Yeditepe University Project Management Office, and Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations for their support in enabling us to successfully administer the project and the module.
