What is Psychology?

In general terms, psychology is a branch of science that investigates human behavior, the mental processes and underlying causes of these behaviors. Issues such as the complex structure of human behavior, cultural influences, personal differences, media effects, age-related factors, biological factors, and abnormal behavioral attitudes emerge as subfields of psychology. In addition to the relationships and interactions of these subfields with each other, psychology also interacts with other branches of science such as anthropology, sociology, neurology and biology. Psychology, which requires an interdisciplinary study in its current state, continues to increase its application area and importance in an accelerating and increasingly complex life in the light of technological developments.
